Saturday and Sunday, October 13/14 (there will be welcome drinks at Harvest Cafe on the Friday night)

Where will it be held?
Most of our workshop activity will be held at Newrybar Hall with some hands-on workshopping and eating at the gorgeous Harvest Cafe just across the road. We’ll also be hosting pre-dinner drinks and nibbles on the beach on the Saturday night with dinner - details to come.

How much will this cost?

$900/pp for the two days of workshops, morning tea, afternoon tea, lunch both days and a workbook to take home. Plus participants are welcome to book discounted follow up sessions with Kate and Sophie $100/1 hour (Skype or in person if possible).

Honestly and truly - after two full days of learning, sharing ideas and meals with a small group of like-minded people, you are going to walk away with the following;

- A comprehensive understanding of why you are using social media/content marketing, in the first place (crucial hey), what you are saying, who you are saying it to and what this all needs to achieve for you and your business.
- A 100-day road map to get it right and keep you on track.
- The skills and confidence to compose, style and photograph your product/service/story in the most engaging way possible, with just an iPhone (or DSLR if you prefer).
- An understanding of how and why to create a killer email marketing campaign to support and complement your social media presence.
- A network of like-minded new buddies to collaborate with and support going forward.
- Confidence, inspiration and an image library of gorgeous shots to use in your socials and email marketing (you should see our venue - pretty darn picture perfect).
- a practical handbook to help you craft your content marketing plan

Who are my hosts?
Kate Walsh is a cookbook author and food entrepreneur putting the spotlight on ways we can fix our broken food system. While not organising food events and messing up her kitchen, Kate also specialises in advising ethical brands, farmers, and artisans on how to grow their community and build their business. Over the past 20 years, she’s advised everyone from Slow Food International to Vogue Magazine USA and has a unique ability to make marketing your brand simple and achievable while getting real results.

Sophie Hansen is a food writer, farmer, blogger, podcaster and an absolute believer in the power of storytelling. She reckons that social media and email marketing are powerful tools that help us farmers and producers tell our story, build communities of advocates around what we do and loves sharing skills, ideas and inspirations to help as many as possible make this happen. Her second cookbook is coming out in March 2019.

How will it work?
Day one;

10am - 1pm; We will divide the group into two. Half of you guys will go with Kate for a morning session that really drills down on the who/what/why of your socials and digital marketing; starting with growth goals, exercises in figuring out exactly who is your audience, what problem you are solving for them and how you can best connect with them we also cover how to plan for and measure the success what you are doing. The other half with go with Sophie for Visual Storytelling 101 (How to compose, style, shoot and edit images of your product/thing for social media). We will cover the basics of how to take images that will stop scrollers in their tracks to how to compose and style product, food and lifestyle pics that really tell a story and how to edit them.

1-2pm - lunch

2-5pm - Swap sessions so everyone covers everything.

Day two;
9-11- Joint session on food and lifestyle photography. Here’s where we take the produce and things you’ve brought along, and style, cook with and shoot it all together. This is where we will fill our image cards with beautiful pics of what we do and who we are with hand models a plenty, beautiful backgrounds, props and people to work with. Need a new headshot? We’ll take them of each other, need some advice on how to get those lifestyle shots for your Instagram feed and fill your image library with the incidental and detail pics that are so useful for your blog, newsletter or socials? We’ll do that too.

11-11.30 - Morning tea

11.30 – 12.30 - Editing your words and images and sharing them on social media so they get the most engagement (timing, hashtags etc).

12.30-1.30pm Lunch

1.30-3.30 pm - Email marketing - how to create and write newsletters and emails that actually get read and acted on.
